Pulmonary artery pulsatility index (PAPi) is a haemodynamic parameter that is derived from right atrial and pulmonary artery pulse pressures. A number of reports have described the prognostic value of PAPi in patients with advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock. However, the derivation and physiological interpretation of this parameter have artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) at 12, 22, 32 and 36weeks’ gestation in singleton pregnancies which develop pre-eclampsia (PE) and examine the performance of this biomarker in screening for PE. Methods UtA-PI was measured in 92712 singleton preg-nancies at 11–13weeks, in 67605 cases at 19–24weeks, 2019-08-03 2011-04-01 Umbilical arterial pulsatility index (UA-PI) is a parameter used in umbilical arterial (UA) Doppler assessment.. It is calculated by subtracting the end-diastolic velocity (EDV) from the peak systolic velocity (PSV) and then dividing by the time-averaged (mean) velocity (TAV): PI = (PSV - EDV) / TAV; Practical points. Reference ranges depend on the stage of gestation. 2017-12-11 The equation was ICP = 23*PI + 14 (R = 0.22, P < .01, N = 35).

Successful embryo implantation depends on interactions between the embryo and the uterus. Investigating factors related to the recipients in an oocyte donation programme could therefore improve the overall pregnancy outcome.

1998-05-01 · Because Gosling’s pulsatility index (Gosling and King 1974) is defined as PI=(V S − V D)/V 0, , deliver a definition of PI. Discussion For years, Gosling’s PI has been regarded a measure of downstream vascular resistance Gosling and King 1974 , Dittrich et al 1985 , Lindegaard 1992 , Cho et al 1997 , Rennie 1997 . ABSTRACT : OBJECTIVE. The purposes of this study were to estimate the blood volume flow of the lower extremities by means of Doppler technique; to establish a quantitative relationship between volume flow and pulsatility index (PI) in both healthy subjects and patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD); and to derive arterial blood flow equations in the lower extremities for more accurate

The influence of cardiac activity on the viscoelastic properties of intracranial tissue is one of the mechanisms through which brain-heart interactions take place, and is implicated in cerebrovascular disease. Cerebrovascular disease risk is not fully explained by current risk factors, including arterial compliance. Cerebrovascular compliance is currently estimated indirectly through Doppler 2. Theory: contrast optimization and modelling. The aim of this work was to solve the Bloch equation for non-stationary (i.e. flowing/moving) spins in a steady state throughout the acquisition, and constrain the sequence parameters to produce an endogenous MRI contrast: (i) dependent primarily on changes in total spin concentration (i.e.
